Overview

What's New for 2013:
  • 3.7-liter V-6 engine

Exterior Features
Infiniti offers the 2013 EX37 in standard and Journey trim levels, with rear- or all-wheel drive (2WD or AWD). The compact crossover SUV, built on the same platform as the Infiniti G lineup, is distinct with standard 18-inch aluminum wheels, gray protective body cladding, and a 5-door hatchback silhouette. Styling is patterned after the G Sedan, and the EX features automatic headlights, fog lights, and LED brake lights.

Interior Features
Highlights from the Infiniti EX37's standard equipment list include an 8-way power driver's seat, leather seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, Infiniti Intelligent Key with push-button starting, ambient cabin lighting, electroluminescent gauges, and a stereo with a CD player, USB/iPod connection, and a free 3-month subscription to satellite radio. Cargo volume measures 18.6 cubic feet with the rear seat raised and 47.4 cubic feet with the rear seat folded.

Optional Features
The EX37 Journey adds Bluetooth, Homelink universal remote, auto-dimming rearview mirror, heated front seats, power tilt/telescoping steering wheel, power sunroof, and maple wood interior trim, which replaces the standard black lacquer and aluminum accents.

Additional options are available in various packages, and include 19-inch aluminum wheels, aluminum roof rails, memory for the driver's settings, power-raising rear seatbacks, Bluetooth music streaming, and a Bose premium audio system. The EX can also be equipped with an advanced climate system with a Plasmacluster air purifier and grape polyphenol filter, hard-drive navigation system, and numerous safety technologies detailed below.

Under the Hood
For 2013, the Infiniti EX gets a new 3.7-liter V-6 engine, and an appropriate name change to EX37. Generating 325 horsepower--27 more than before--the new V-6 drives the rear or all four wheels through a 7-speed automatic transmission with Adaptive Shift Control, manual shift gate, and Downshift Rev Matching.

Fuel Economy
As this overview was written, the EPA had not released official fuel-economy estimates for the 2013 Infiniti EX37.

Safety
The 2013 Infiniti EX37 is equipped with 6 air bags, 4-wheel-disc anti-lock braking system with electronic brake-force distribution and brake assist, traction and stability control, and a reversing camera.

Optional safety features include an Around View Monitor with front and rear park-assist sensors, Intelligent Cruise Control with Distance Control Assist, blind-spot monitoring system, lane-departure warning system, forward-collision warning system, and Intelligent Brake Assist (IBA). The latter feature, IBA, will automatically apply the brakes if the driver does not respond to alerts from the forward-collision warning system.

As this overview is written, neither the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) nor the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety has rated the crash-test worthiness of the 2013 Infiniti EX37. However, the structurally identical 2012 model was named a \"Top Safety Pick\" by the Institute.
