Exterior Features
The 2013 Hyundai Elantra is sold as a coupe, 5-door hatchback and a sedan. coupes come in GS and SE trim levels. Hatchbacks carry GT designations. Sedans are available in GLS and Limited trim. Power heated side mirrors are standard, and all three models have 16-inch wheels. The Elantra SE coupe, Limited Sedan and GT Hatchback (with the Style package) feature 17-inch wheels and turn signal indicators embedded into the side mirror caps.

Interior Features
For 2013, the Elantra GLS Sedan includes standard air conditioning, cruise control, and a tilt/telescoping steering wheel. These items complement a stereo with a CD player, USB port, auxiliary audio input jack, and satellite radio. Power windows and power door locks with remote keyless entry are also standard. The Elantra GS coupe and GT Hatchback add Bluetooth connectivity and heated front seats.

The Elantra Limited Sedan and SE coupe include leather seats, power driver's seat, and a power sunroof. These items are included in the GT Hatchback's optional Style package. The Limited Sedan also adds heated front and rear seats.

Optional Features
The Elantra GLS Sedan can be upgraded with Bluetooth, heated front seats, aluminum wheels, and fog lights, features that are standard on the GS coupe and GT Hatchback. The Limited Sedan can be equipped with dual-zone automatic climate control, navigation system, reversing camera, premium sound, and keyless entry with push-button ignition. These items are also available on the SE coupe and GT Hatchback, which can also be equipped with a sport suspension and aluminum pedals.

Under the Hood
Every 2013 Hyundai Elantra has a 1.8-liter 4-cylinder engine making 148 horsepower. In states with Partial Zero Emission Vehicle (PZEV) regulations, the Elantra makes 145 horsepower. A 6-speed manual gearbox is standard, with a 6-speed Shiftronic automatic available as an option. Exclusive to the Elantra GT Hatchback is a driver-selectable steering system offering Comfort, Normal or Sport tuning.

Fuel Economy
EPA fuel-economy estimates for the 2013 Hyundai Elantra are:
  • Elantra coupe with manual transmission: 29/40/33 mpg (city/highway/combined)
  • Elantra coupe with automatic transmission: 28/39/32 mpg
  • Elantra Hatchback: 28/39/32 mpg
  • Elantra Sedan: 29/40/33 mpg

Six air bags, traction and stability control, and anti-lock brakes with brake assist come standard on the 2013 Elantra. A reversing camera is optional, and Blue Link telematics offers access to a number of programmable safety features and emergency assistance services.
