Exterior Features
The 2013 Dodge Grand Caravan is sold in five trim levels: SE American Value Package (SE-AVP), SE, SXT, Crew, and R/T. The Grand Caravan SE-AVP trim is equipped with power heated exterior mirrors and 16-inch steel wheels with plastic wheel covers.

Interior Features
Super Stow 'n Go seating is no longer standard for the Grand Caravan SE-AVP trim. The Stow 'n Go third-row seat still folds into the floor, but the second-row seat is now a 2-person bench seat that must be removed from the van to expand cargo capacity. Additionally, the SE-AVP is equipped with front air conditioning, power front windows, power door locks with remote keyless entry, cruise control, tilt/telescoping steering wheel, and a 4-speaker stereo with CD player and auxiliary audio input jack.

Optional Features
The Grand Caravan SE-AVP can be equipped with Super Stow 'n Go seating, which allows all rear seating positions to be stored in the floor when maximum cargo capacity is required. Additionally, this trim level is offered with Uconnect Bluetooth connectivity, satellite radio, auto-dimming rearview mirror, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob.

Options for the Grand Caravan SE trim include dark-tinted rear glass, triple-zone air conditioning, additional stereo speakers, body-color door handles, floor mats, and a center console with 4 cup holders. Uconnect Bluetooth connectivity is also available on the SE, along with 17-inch aluminum wheels.

The Grand Caravan SXT trim includes power sliding-door windows, power third-row vent windows, body-color exterior mirror caps, and 17-inch aluminum wheels. Optional on the SXT are Uconnect Bluetooth connectivity, remote engine starting, reversing camera, and power driver's seat. The Power Convenience Group option package adds dual-power sliding side doors, power liftgate, power-adjustable pedals, expanded center console, and a Stow 'n Place roof rack. Buyers can also select from three different Entertainment Group option packages, including one equipped with a new Blu-Ray DVD rear-seat entertainment system with dual high-resolution screens, HDMI video game inputs, rear USB ports, and a 115-volt power outlet.

The Grand Caravan Crew trim level includes Uconnect Bluetooth connectivity, while the Power Convenience Group option package includes automatic climate control, 8-way power front passenger's seat, rear overhead storage console with LED and ambient lighting, illuminated visor vanity mirrors, full vehicle information center, and universal garage door opener. Also included on the Crew trim are fog lights, 17-inch alloy wheels, and extra chrome exterior trim.

Options for the Grand Caravan Crew trim duplicate those for the Grand Caravan SXT, but the Crew trim can also be upgraded with a Safety Sphere Group option package containing a blind-spot monitoring system, rear cross-path detection system, park-assist sensors, rain-sensing wipers, automatic headlights, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror.

Additionally, a Crew Value option package features a portable rechargeable flashlight, Uconnect with hard-drive storage, reversing camera, and chrome Stow 'n Place roof rack. The Driver Convenience Group option package features Uconnect Voice Command connectivity with Bluetooth streaming audio and a USB port, heated steering wheel, heated front- and second-row seats, and sunshades for the second- and third-row seats. The Trailer Tow Prep Group option package adds load-leveling height-controlled rear suspension and heavy-duty engine cooling. Additional extras include a premium audio system and a navigation system.

The Grand Caravan R/T trim is equipped with body-color exterior trim, sport-tuned suspension, polished 17-inch aluminum wheels, and performance-oriented tires. Standard on the R/T trim are leather seats, premium sound system, and power front-passenger seat. For the most part, options duplicate those offered on the Crew trim.

Under the Hood
The 2013 Dodge Grand Caravan is equipped with a 3.6-liter, 283-horsepower V-6 engine driving the front wheels through a 6-speed automatic transmission. A \"fuel economizer\" mode is designed to modify transmission shift points in an effort to maximize fuel economy.

Fuel Economy
EPA fuel-economy estimates for the 2013 Dodge Grand Caravan are 17/25/20 mpg (city/highway/combined).

Safety
The 2013 Dodge Grand Caravan is equipped with 7 air bags, including a knee air bag for the driver. Standard are traction control, stability control, and trailer sway damping control, along with 4-wheel-disc brakes with brake assist. Safety-related options include rain-sensing wipers, parking sensors, reversing camera, blind-spot monitoring system, and rear cross-path detection system.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) gives the 2013 Grand Caravan an overall crash-test rating of 4 (out of 5) stars. As this overview was written, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) had not tested the 2013 Grand Caravan. However, the structurally identical 2012 model was named a \"Top Safety Pick\" by the Institute.
