Overview

Audi's 2009 A5 is powered by a 3.2L FSI (direct-injected) V6 engine that makes 265 hp and 243 ft-lb of torque. The engine has Audi's Valvelift System for variable valve timing and lift, which offers better throttle response across the rev range. The sportier S5 model is powered by a 354-hp, 4.2L FSI V8 engine. Both versions have impressive acceleration, with the A5 getting to 60 mph in 5.8 seconds and the S5 doing so in 4.9 seconds.

With the V6, a 6-speed manual gearbox is standard, while a 6-speed Tiptronic automatic with manual shift control is optional. The S5's V8 can be mated to either the 6-speed manual or Tiptronic automatic.
