Robert P. Hartwig is president of the Insurance Information Institute. Since joining the I.I.I. in 1998 as an economist and becoming chief economist in 1999, Dr. Hartwig has focused his work on improving understanding of key insurance issues across all industry stakeholders including media, consumers, insurers, producers, regulators, legislators and investors. In August 2016, Dr. Hartwig will transition to a role in academia as a faculty member in the Finance Department within the Darla Moore School of Business at the University of South Carolina and will also become co-director of the school’s Center for Risk and Uncertainty Management. In addition, Dr. Hartwig will maintain a continuing role with the Institute.

Christopher E. Mandel is SVP of strategic solutions for Sedgwick and Director of the Sedgwick Institute, where in both capacities he is responsible for helping the company reach its strategic vision of serving current and evolving needs of its current and future customers, as well as help lead the industry vertical to the next level and beyond. Previously he served as the president and managing consultant of Excellence in Risk Management, LLC., and also EVP, Professional Services for rPM3 Solution, LLC., both independent consulting firms specializing in risk management and insurance services. Mr. Mandel has more than 20 years of leadership experience in insurance and large global corporate risk management. He has pioneered the development of integrated risk management at USAA, where S&P rated USAA as “excellent” and a “leader in ERM”. His career has included key roles at Liberty Mutual, Marsh, Verizon, American National Red Cross, PepsiCo and USAA, and he has served in numerous leadership positions with the Risk and insurance Management Society, including 7 years on the RIMS’ board and as President in 2002-03. He has held appointments to: the Spencer Educational Foundation Board; the Board of the risk retention group for the American Orthodontics Association; the Center for Enterprise Risk Management Advisory Council (University of GA); and the Advisory Boards of AIG, the Nonprofit Insurance Alliance Group, Liberty Mutual, Zurich American, FM Global, G4S and Willis. He was elected a founding member of Risk Who’s Who in 2008 and is recognized by his peers as a thought leader in ERM and related disciplines.

Anurag Rai is a Director in KPMG Cyber, based in Chicago. Anurag has 15 years’ experience in the information security, risk management, compliance, privacy and identity and access management domains. During the progressive career, Anurag has served as the senior director of information security at a large privately held corporation which dealt with supply chain management for the wireless industry. Anurag has also served as head of advisory and consulting for a niche consulting firm in the area of information security, identity and access management and provided high performance consulting and advisory in the area of information security, information risk management, audit, compliance, and IAM and led several large, complex and multi-phased information security, information risk management and identity management engagements for more than 70 clients globally. He has worked for a software as a service provider establishing internal information security policies, controls and adherence to SSAE 16 SOC1, SOC 2 and ISO 27001 standards.

Pam Rogers is a Senior Director with Alvarez & Marsal’s Insurance & Risk Advisory Practice in New York. She specializes in enterprise risk management, risk function infrastructure and process optimization. Her primary areas of concentration are working with clients to identify, assess and optimize critical risks, building ERM frameworks, optimizing clients’ risk management functions, re-engineering risk management processes and transitional outsourced risk management.

With more than 30 years of corporate risk management and consulting experience, Ms. Rogers has helped client companies and their Boards identify and optimize their key risk issues across the organization, raise the perceived value of the risk management function, determine their readiness for a professional risk management staff and determine the most efficient and effective processes for the risk management function.

Ms. Rogers’ notable assignments include General Motors, Nestle, Sears, Target, Tyco, Estee Lauder and Kaiser Permanente. With her wide variety of experience, Ms. Rogers quickly integrates into a client’s environment to add value. Most recently, Ms. Rogers was responsible for Enterprise Risk Management and Operational Excellence at Weight Watchers International, Inc. Ms. Rogers has worked with clients across various industries, manufacturing, food processing, retail, consumer products, healthcare, telecommunications, higher education, government and not-for-profit.

Prior to joining A&M, Ms. Rogers spent 3-1/2 years with Weight Watchers International, Inc. in New York, where she served as Vice President Enterprise Risk and Insurance Management and Senior Director Operational Excellence. In these roles, Ms. Rogers successfully partnered with all key global management teams to design, develop and implement company’s enterprise risk management framework under the direction of board of directors and executive committee, directed the executive risk committee, managed all aspects of insurable risk management program, led the Field Operations Team implementation of two new product lines, led compliance activities for company’s qualified and non-qualified retirement plans, successfully executed integration of acquisitions and identified opportunities to improve operational processes.

Ms. Rogers earned a bachelor’s degree in Risk Management and Insurance from the University of Georgia and a master’s of business administration from the University of Michigan. Ms. Rogers served over 20 years as a member of the Board of Directors for the Spencer Educational Foundation, has chaired the Student Involvement Committee for the Risk and Insurance Management Society and serves as a Risk Manager in Residence on university campuses. Ms. Rogers is a well-known and sought after public speaker on a range of risk management and insurance industry related topics in both professional and academic environments.
