Catherine James is a Marketing Scientist/Senior Statistical Analyst at the J.D. Power Analytical Center of Excellence and the Lead Marketing Scientist for Travel, Hospitality and Healthcare Practices. She is responsible for the research design and statistical analyses of syndicated and proprietary tracking studies. She also provides leadership guidance to the internal teams that oversee the implementation of J.D. Power research best practices. In addition, she creates custom statistical tools for competitive benchmarking and addresses detailed questions about statistics, methodology, sampling and questionnaire design.

Ms. James joined J.D. Power in 2016 with a background in market research analytics and operations. Previously, Ms. James was a research operations project manager and analyst for Ipsos.

Ms. James earned a bachelor’s degree in history from Yale University and a master’s degree in educational psychology from the University of Southern California, where she studied statistics, motivation theory and cognitive learning theory.
