Overview
First introduced for the 1998 model year, the
Volvo V70 has been a 4-door station wagon version of the S60 4-door sedan. For 2008, the V70 moves to the slightly larger S80 platform. A 3.2-liter, inline 6-cylinder engine replaces the normally aspirated and turbocharged 5-cylinder engine. A high-performance R model is no longer offered. V70 is only available with front-wheel drive. Seating is for 5, with two rows of seats. The 2008 V70 gets a number of new technologies, including Volvo’s Blind Spot Information System, personal car communicator, driver alert control, and adaptive cruise control that comes with collision warning with brake support.
