Reviews

The first-generation S40, an entry-level compact luxury car from Volvo , was introduced in 1995. Based on a Mitsubishi Carisma platform (but sharing few parts with its counterpart), the small sedan emphasized safety, ergonomics and economy. The second-generation debuted in late 2004. It was built on an all-new platform developed by Volvo and inspired by the company’s flagship S80. For 2008, the nimble front- or all-wheel-drive (AWD) S40 benefits from a minor facelift, and further refinements.
