2007 Cadillac SRX

What’s New?
An all-new, elegantly handcrafted interior characterizes the SRX luxury crossover for 2007, and a new 6-speed transmission provides increased performance and fuel efficiency to V-8-powered models. Other changes include the availability of an automatic odor filtration system, upgraded audio systems, a new Sport package offering distinct exterior styling, and all-wheel drive with a limited-slip differential and 20-inch wheels.

Overview
Introduced in 2004, the SRX successfully closed the gap between SUV and luxury sedan to become Cadillac’s first crossover. It is available in two trim levels primarily based on power: one offers a V-6 and the other a V-8. According to Cadillac, the SRX premium midsize crossover boasts the longest wheelbase in its segment and can seat up to 7 passengers when equipped with the optional third-row seat.

Cadillac has substantially upgraded the SRX’s interior for 2007 by designing a completely new dashboard and replacing plastic components with handcrafted cut-and-sewn leather. An optional UltraView sunroof—touted as the largest sunroof system in its class—offers 5.6 square feet of open air over the first two rows and a glass roof over the third row. Retractable power shades cover both sections.

V-6 powered models come with a 3.6-liter engine that produces 260 hp and 254 lb.-ft. of torque. It is mated to an electronic 5-speed automatic transmission. V-8-powered models feature a 4.6-liter Northstar engine that generates 320 hp and 315 lb.-ft. of torque. The V-8 comes with a new 6-speed transmission that GM says is nearly 7 percent quicker in 0-60 mph times and 5 percent more fuel efficient. Both engines have an aluminum block and cylinder heads, and feature efficient variable valve timing. All-wheel drive and Magnetic Ride Control, an active suspension system introduced by Cadillac in 2003, are available on both V-6 and V-8 models. StabiliTrak electronic stability control is standard. The SRX is backed by a 4-year/50,000-mile warranty and GM’s new 5-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty.
