Why We Drove It: The Volkswagen CC is heavily based on the Volkswagen Passat, which was the most improved nameplate in our 2008 Initial Quality Study and which ranked No. 1 in its class in our 2008 APEAL Study, which measures customer satisfaction with a vehicle's performance and design attributes.
• Bluetooth wireless connectivity is optional on all Volkswagen CC models.
• The turbocharged four-cylinder engine on the Volkswagen CC 2.0T makes its peak torque across a broad rev range between 1,700 and 5,000 rpm and its peak horsepower from 5,100 rpm to 6,000 rpm, producing what feels like a steady rush of acceleration in every gear.
• Volkswagen says the CC 2.0T accelerates to 60 mph in 6.9 seconds with a manual transmission and in 7.4 seconds with an automatic transmission.
• VW claims the CC VR6 Sport accelerates to 60 mph in an estimated 6.6 seconds, and that the CC VR6 4Motion can achieve that speed in an estimated 6.2 seconds.
• The Volkswagen CC’s top speed is electronically limited to 130 mph.
