Why We Drove It: The 2009 Saturn Vue received a Top Safety Pick rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety as well as top marks from the National Traffic Safety Administration.
For the 2009 model year, we are unable to separate the Saturn Vue Hybrid from other Vues. In surveys that J.D. Power and Associates has conducted with verified owners of the 2009 Saturn Vue, the people that actually own and drive one told us:

“Very solid feel overall, much different feel from my 2002 and 2004 Vues.”

“Interior fit and finish, and exterior styling, are excellent.”

“The steering wheel [shape] hurts my hand on long trips.”

“[I] would like [a] telescopic steering wheel and adjustable armrests.”

“Overall quality of materials [is] excellent, but I believe assembly of product needs better quality control.”

“Lots of little things [go wrong]: Glovebox, paint chips, peeling steering wheel, CD player, light issue.”

“Two battery replacements required within [the] first 1,000 miles. Each took over 2 hours to replace.”

“The cupholders between the front seats are too deep.”

“The armrest over [the] center console is irritating and moves too much.”

“Have trouble reading dials for [the] speedometer and fuel gauge…during the daytime.”

“I don’t like the trunk storage space. Not very much room.”

“[I am disappointed with] storage and space. Lacks cargo area and center console storage is too small.”

“I miss the wells in the back [of the previous Vue] that could hold one-gallon jugs.”

“We miss the shopping bag holder in the back that the older Vue had.”

“The seat is very comfortable but the edge of seat is too high making it difficult to get in.”

“Driver’s seat not supportive enough on left side and seat needs more cushion.”

“Seats are very comfortable on long drives.”

“Fairly uncomfortable driver’s seat. Too hard, too much lumbar, too rigid.”

“Styling [is] outstanding. Best in its class.”

“Love the way it handles. Like driving a car.”

“I am thoroughly pleased with every aspect of my car.”

“Saturn salespeople are special and service is excellent.”
