Why We Drove It: The Audi Q5 called a “Top Safety Pick” by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, and the NHTSA says the Q5 receives 5-star crash-test ratings for frontal- and side-impact collisions, in combination with a 4-star rollover rating.
• Audi says the 2009 Q5 accelerates to 60 mph in 6.7 seconds on the way to the top speed of 130 mph.

• The 2009 Audi Q5’s Tiptronic six-speed automatic includes a Sport program to hold revs longer for sportier driving.
