Performance and Design – In the J.D. Power and Associates 2008 Automotive Performance, Execution And Layout Study, the Subaru Impreza received a Performance and Design Power Circle Rating of 2 out of 5.

Predicted Reliability – The current Subaru Impreza is too new to have been included in our J.D. Power and Associates 2008 Vehicle Dependability Study. However, based upon the performance of all Subaru models during the past three years in both our Initial Quality and Vehicle Dependability studies, the Impreza’s Predicted Reliability Power Circle Rating is 2 out of 5.

Fuel Economy – EPA fuel economy estimates for the 2008 Subaru Impreza WRX STI are 17 mpg city/23 mpg highway. During our test driving, the WRX STI averaged 17.1 mpg.

Safety – The 2008 Subaru Impreza hatchback gets 5-star crash test ratings for frontal impact driver, frontal impact front passenger, and side impact front seating positions. Rear seating positions are rated 4 stars in side crash testing. The Impreza also received a 4-star rollover rating. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety gives the Subaru Impreza a Top Safety Pick rating for its performance in frontal, side and rear impact tests.
