Why We Drove It: The Lincoln MKZ is the top-ranked vehicle in its class in the 2007 J.D. Power and Associates Initial Quality Study.
The Lincoln MKZ is a mid-size luxury sedan that replaced the Lincoln LS in 2006, the single model year it was known as the Zephyr. Cosmetically updated when its name switched to MKZ in 2007, this entry-level Lincoln is based on the same platform as the Ford Fusion and Mercury Milan, but with a more powerful V-6 engine under the hood and distinctive styling cues inside and out.
Here is what changed on the 2008 Lincoln MKZ:
• Heated and cooled front seats are standard
• Sirius satellite radio is standard
• Sync hands-free communication system is standard
• Reverse sensing system is standard
• Available navigation system now offers voice recognition technology
• Four new colors: Dark Ink Blue, Moss Green, Vapor Silver, White Suede
The 2008 Lincoln MKZ is sold in a single trim level with the buyer’s choice of front- or all-wheel drive. Standard features include real wood interior trim, perforated premium leather upholstery, and common entry luxury sedan amenities such as dual-zone climate control, an Audiophile sound system, and a reverse sensing system. The MKZ also includes dual 10-way power adjustable front seats that are heated and cooled, as well as Lincoln Sync, a voice-activated, hands-free in-car communications and entertainment system. The 2008 Lincoln MKZ is powered by a 3.5-liter V-6 engine making 263 horsepower at 6250 rpm and 249 lb.-ft. of torque at 4500 rpm on regular unleaded fuel. The engine is mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission, and drives the front or all four 17-inch alloy wheels.
Standard safety features on the 2008 Lincoln MKZ include six airbags: dual front, dual side and side curtains for front and rear passengers. Antilock brakes, stability control with traction control and a tire pressure monitoring system also come standard.
J.D. Power and Associates says the Lincoln MKZ competes against entry premium cars like the Acura TSX, Audi A4, BMW 3 Series, Cadillac CTS, Infiniti G35, Lexus IS, Mercedes-Benz C-Class, Volvo S60, and others.

This car is the exact one we own and love everything about it. We have the AWD model and with the cooled seating is an outstanding option especially living on Guam. Great job Lincoln!
