For 2006, Mazda launched its CX-7 crossover sport utility vehicle and, for 2007, adds the larger CX-9 version that is built on a separate (not just lengthened) chassis and provides room for a third row of seating. The CX-9 is a midsize crossover utility with 17.2 cubic feet of cargo space between the upright third-row seat and the rear liftgate. To enhance passenger comfort, the second row slides fore and aft up to 5 inches.
