Lexus offers a Limited Edition version of its full-size LX 470 sport utility vehicle for 2007. Only 400 copies will be produced for the United States. Each gets a special Black Onyx exterior, special 18-inch wheels, chrome trim, and special badges. Inside, Limited Edition LX 470s get Stone leather seating, black bird’s-eye maple trim, and black floor mats with special emblems.
Lexus entered the sport utility segment in 1996 with the launch of its LX, a full-size SUV based on the body-on-frame, truck-style platform from the highly regarded Toyota Land Cruiser. A second-generation LX with an even larger V-8 engine was introduced in 1998, and the model received extensive and luxurious updating in 2002. The LX 470 was upgraded again in 2005, and has been little changed since.
