Making its debut just last year, the 2008
GMC Acadia midsize crossover utility vehicle (CUV) is mostly carryover, with some minor enhancements, including an updated AWD system. Built on GM’s body-frame-integral design, Acadia shares the same platform as the
Saturn Outlook and
Buick Enclave. Representing the fastest-growing segment in the U.S. automotive market, CUVs provide consumers with car-like responsiveness and fuel-economy advantages. GMC claims the Acadia offers a stable ride, roomy cabin and plenty of cargo storage, and positions the model as an alternative to minivans and SUVs.
