The Lucerne sedan is priced above the
LaCrosse, which means an even higher level of features and luxury. For starters, the CX and CXL trim levels receive the 3.8-liter V-6 good for 197 hp and 227 lb.-ft. of torque, while the CXS gets the 4.6-liter Northstar V-8—borrowed from the
Cadillac division—that produces 275 hp and 295 lb.-ft. of torque (the V-8 is an option on the CXL). As in the LaCrosse, both Lucerne engines are matched to 4-speed automatic transmissions. The Lucerne provides drivers with a choice of suspension/tire combinations, from mild to sporty, depending on the desired level of road feel.
