What's New

Buick’s Lucerne is the brand’s flagship sedan, and comes standard with many nice features. For 2007, minor upgrades include GM’s OnStar communications program—now with Directions & Connections featuring Turn-by-Turn navigation, which delivers directions from a live operator and records them for playback to guide you to your destination. A chrome grille is available on CXL and CXS trim levels, and a heated and leather-wrapped steering wheel, plus a touch-screen navigation system are featured. New interior shades include Cocoa/Cashmere or Cocoa/Shale, and Light Quartz Metallic and Gold Mist Metallic are the new exterior hues.

Reviews

The Lucerne sedan is priced above the LaCrosse, which means an even higher level of features and luxury. For starters, the CX and CXL trim levels receive the 3.8-liter V-6 good for 197 hp and 227 lb.-ft. of torque, while the CXS gets the 4.6-liter Northstar V-8—borrowed from the Cadillac division—that produces 275 hp and 295 lb.-ft. of torque (the V-8 is an option on the CXL). As in the LaCrosse, both Lucerne engines are matched to 4-speed automatic transmissions. The Lucerne provides drivers with a choice of suspension/tire combinations, from mild to sporty, depending on the desired level of road feel.
