2009 Mercury Mountaineer:
The biggest change for the midsize Mountaineer SUV is the addition of the optional VOGA package for Premier models. VOGA, in Spanish, means fashionable and trendsetting. The package includes unique Cashmere leather-trimmed seats with VOGA stitching in the front seatbacks, floor mats with embroidered VOGA logo, and unique center stack, door switch and door trim panels to round out the VOGA-specific trim. On the outside, VOGA exterior badging is matched to a lot of chrome trim items like 18-inch wheels, grille, side mirror skull caps, roof rack rails, rear lamp surrounds, bumper insert plate surround, beltline trim, and license plate appliqué. A Sun and SYNC package pairs the Microsoft-powered connectivity system with a moonroof, and the next-generation navigation system with Sirius Travel Link capabilities replaces the regular navigation system in the Moon & Tunes package.
The Mountaineer also gets an Easy Fuel capless fuel filler system, standard Sirius satellite radio on Premier models, and black crossbars for the roof rails on all models. Three new exterior colors also have been added for 2009: Sport Blue Clearcoat Metallic, Sangria Red Clearcoat Metallic, and White Suede Clearcoat Metallic.
