2009 Mercedes-Benz SLK-Class
Significantly updated for 2009, the SLK received some 650 new parts and components for the new model year, according to Mercedes. These changes were geared to give it an “even more dynamic” appearance and provide “an even more emotionally charged driving experience.” The car, now in its sixth year, is significantly more driver-focused with a sport steering wheel and revised instrument cluster. A new direct-steer system with variable power assist is designed to elicit optimal performance from the 2-seater’s sport suspension. There will be three different SLK models in 2009. These include the 6-cylinder SLK300 and SLK350 (each with new 17-inch wheels), and the 8-cylinder, high-performance SLK55 AMG model.
