2009 Infiniti M-Series
The big news for the Infiniti M for 2009 is found under the hood. The 6-cylinder M35 receives an updated version of the 3.5-liter V-6 engine, bumping the horsepower rating to 303. The news gets better as the automaker has dropped a slick new 7-speed automatic transmission under the hood of the rear-wheel-drive sedan. The additional gearing improves EPA fuel economy numbers to 17 mpg city and 25 mpg highway. Although the all-wheel-drive M35x receives the new engine, it retains a 5-speed automatic transmission. The M45, powered by a V-8 engine, carries forth without significant mechanicals changes. All models receive automatic speed-sensing door locks and Infiniti’s “Scratch Shield” self-healing paint.
