2009 Audi A4/S4
All-new for 2009, the Audi A4 is up nearly 5 inches in length compared to its predecessor. Headroom and shoulder room have increased, offering additional comfort to occupants, and trunk capacity is a generous 17 cubic feet. In a trend that will eventually cover the entire model range, Audi has moved the engine/transmission back several inches for improved handling and ride dynamics, the company says. Like the Audi A3 and Audi A6, the new A4 is offered in both front- and all-wheel-drive (FWD and AWD—Audi’s quattro system) versions. The standard models feature two different engines—a 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder or a 3.2-liter 6-cylinder. The high-performance S4 model debuts a new supercharged 3.0-liter V-6 engine rated at 333 hp. Standard features on the S4 include quattro all-wheel drive, upgraded suspension, larger brakes, 18-inch wheels, and other performance-oriented enhancements.
