2009 Infiniti QX56
One of the first full-sized SUVs from a Japanese automaker, the Infiniti QX56 arrived in 2004 and has seen minor updates over the past five years. Based on the Nissan Titan pickup platform, the QX56 features an independent rear suspension, setting itself apart from several competitors. There is only one trim level and it is very well equipped with a long list of standard luxury features and innovative technology. The standard and only engine is a 5.6-liter V-8, with 2- or 4-wheel-drive powertrains. The QX56 has earned EPA fuel economy ratings of 12 mpg city and 18 mpg highway (figures are for the 2WD model). In our 2008 Initial Quality Study (IQS), the industry benchmark for new-vehicle quality measured at 90 days, the QX56 ranked among the top three models in its segment. The 2009 QX56 is essentially a carryover from last year.
