2009 Lincoln Town Car
The Lincoln Town Car is likely the most traditional full-size American car on the road today. With durable body-on-frame construction, an 8-cylinder powertrain, and rear-wheel drive, the luxurious Lincoln is the platform of choice for countless limousine companies who convert them to carry VIPs in style. The current model was introduced in 1998, and was last updated in 2003. With its standard 4.6-liter V-8, the Town Car generates EPA fuel economy estimates of 16 mpg city and 24 mpg highway (the engine is also flex-fuel compatible). Lincoln Town Car owners were surveyed about their 3-year-old cars in our 2008 Vehicle Dependability Study (VDS). Consumers reported a very low number of issues, earning the Town Car a top-three ranking in its segment. The large sedan is not only reliable, but it is safe as well. In crash tests by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the Town Car earned 5-star ratings for frontal and side impacts, and for a rollover rating. For 2009, the Lincoln Town Car is mostly a carryover.
