2009 Jaguar XJ
Last redesigned for 2004, Jaguar’s flagship XJ was heavily updated for the 2008 model year when it received an exterior freshening, new wheels, and all-new interior seating giving the cabin more room. New colors and updated electronics completed the package. For 2009, Jaguar made only a handful of changes. A special-edition model, the XJ Portfolio, debuts with a special appearance package and new 20-inch wheels. The XJ Portfolio also receives the more powerful of two engines offered in the 2009 Jaguar XJ. The standard V-8, under the hood of the XJ8, XJ8L and Vanden Plas, is rated at 16 mpg city and 25 mpg highway. A performance-oriented, supercharged 400-hp engine powers the XJR, Super V8 and Portfolio models. The sporty models also receive an upgraded sport suspension. Jaguar XJ owners expressed delight with the design, content, layout and performance of their new vehicles in our 2008 Automotive Performance, Execution and Layout (APEAL) Study, earning the Jaguar XJ a top-three ranking in its segment.
