2008 Porsche Cayman
Based on the award-winning Porsche Boxster, but with a fixed steel roof offering nearly double the chassis rigidity, the 2-seat Cayman coupé mirrors the mid-engine mechanicals and excellent handling found in its sibling. While the Boxster is based on a decade-old platform, the Cayman wasn’t launched until 2006, so it enjoys all of the evolutionary upgrades in one razor-sharp handling sports car. Like the Boxster, the Cayman offers storage space in the nose, but it adds a convenient rear hatchback for added storage capacity in the trunk. The Porsche Cayman ranked highest in its segment in the 2007 APEAL study. For 2008, the EPA has rated the Cayman’s fuel economy at 19 mpg city/26 mpg highway.
