For 2007, both the 2.5T and T5 versions of the S60 get revamped front-end styling, side mirrors with integrated turn signals, standard Dynamic Stability Traction Control, a tire-pressure-monitoring system, and simplified option and package choices. In addition, 2.5T models get stiffer springs and shock absorbers. Also, the 2007 model year will be the last for the 300-hp S60R.

Midsize sedans have been an integral part of Volvo's North American lineup since the 1970s. First there was the 240 sedan, which looked like the box it came in, and later the front-wheel-drive (FWD) 850—curvier than the 240, but still pretty squarely shaped. It wasn't until the S60 premiered in 2003 that midsize buyers got a serious taste of Volvo style.
