2006 Saab 9-7X SUV

Based on the same body-on-frame platform as the Chevy TrailBlazer, powered by big American six- and eight-cylinder engines and built in Ohio, the Saab 9-7X shares the title of "Least Saab-like Saab Ever" with its 9-2X second cousin that's mostly a Subaru Impreza WRX. Attractively priced but not nearly as refined as the thoroughbred European entries or its car-based Japanese competitors, the all-wheel-drive 9-7X is differentiated from its GM donor vehicles with more sophisticated styling and a firmer, driver-oriented suspension.
