The Porsche Cayman is based on the Porsche Boxster roadster, but has a fixed metal roof and a redesigned exterior and interior. The coupe—dubbed the Cayman S—launched as a 2006 model, with the standard Cayman version added later in the year. New for the 2007 model year are an updated Tiptronic S automatic transmission, a standard tire-pressure-monitoring system, and a new 19-inch wheel option.
