The Porsche 911 line features a large stable of luxury sports cars, and the badge is one of the oldest still in manufacture. The 2010 Porsche 911 is available as a coupé or cabriolet (convertible), with rear- or all-wheel drive, and with several engine choices. For 2010, a new engine has been added to the Turbo trim, and a restyled GT3 roadster is back on the team after skipping the 2009 model year.

The 2010 Porsche 911 offers a total of nine different models: Carrera, Carrera S, Carrera 4, Carrera 4S, Targa 4, Targa 4S, Turbo, GT3, and GT3 RS. An exhaustive menu of options is available with all trims.

Standard equipment for all 2010 Porsche 911 Carreras and Targas includes 18-inch wheels with performance tires, leather upholstery, a full range of power and automatic accessories, sunroof, touch-screen electronics interface, and 9-speaker stereo. The main difference between Carrera and Targa models is that the latter features a larger, powerized sunroof and an opening rear window hatch. On both Carrera and Targa, the S models feature 19-inch wheels, adaptive suspension, and a more powerful engine. Convertible models employ a power soft top. The 911 Turbo is basically a premium version of the Carrera, with 19-inch wheels, turbocharged engine, firmer suspension, and many other upgrades.

The GT3 is a 2-seater with 19-inch wheels, more powerful brakes, new adaptive suspension, and sport seats. It doesn’t offer a sunroof. The GT3 RS adds more power to the engine, plus other enhancements.

The base engine in the 2010 Porsche 911 is a rear-mounted, horizontally opposed, 345-horsepower, 3.6-liter V-6 power plant that delivers 19 mpg in the city and 27 mpg on the highway, according to the EPA. More power is gradually added as standard on rising trim levels, topping out with the Turbo’s direct-injection, 500-horsepower, 3.8-liter V-6 engine, which produces 480 lb.-ft. of torque.

Standard safety features on the 2010 Porsche 911 lineup include anti-lock brakes, stability control, traction control, front side air bags, and side curtain air bags.

Starting MSRPs for the 2010 Porsche 911 ranged from $77,800 for the base Carrera to $143,800 for the GT3 RS.
