The design of the Nissan Cube resembles its name. It’s an economical 4-door hatchback with quirky styling features, and its distinctive angular profile is highly recognizable. Mechanically and performance-wise, it’s very similar to the Nissan Versa, but the Cube offers off-beat colors and touches not seen on any other Nissan model (or any other make, for that matter).

Four trim levels are available on the 2010 Nissan Cube. The base model features 15-inch wheels, keyless entry, air conditioning, and a 2-speaker sound system, while the S trim adds cruise control, Bluetooth connectivity, 6-speaker sound system, and upgraded cloth upholstery. The SL trim provides 16-inch alloy wheels and adds automatic climate control, headlights, and footlights. The SL also offers a Preferred option package that includes keyless ignition and entry and a premium 6-speaker Rockford Fosgate sound system. The top-of-the-line Krom trim adds all the Preferred options as standard equipment, plus a rear spoiler, upgraded bumpers and grille, upgraded interior trim, and 20-color interior ambient lighting. Many of its features are available as options on other trim levels. A portable navigation system—and several unique styling features not offered on other cars—are also optional.

The standard powertrain consists of a 122-horsepower, 1.8-liter 4-cylinder engine with a 6-speed manual transmission and front-wheel drive. A continuously variable transmission (CVT) is available on the two lower trims, and is standard on the SL and Krom trims. With the CVT, the EPA estimates that the Cube will deliver 28 mpg in the city and 30 mpg on the highway.

Safety features on the 2010 Nissan Cube include anti-lock brakes, stability control, traction control, active front head restraints, front side air bags, side curtain air bags, and, on the upper trims, a rearview camera.

In NHTSA front-impact crash tests, the Cube earned 4 out of 5 stars for frontal-impact protection and 5 stars for side-impact protection.

MSRPs for the 2010 Nissan Cube ranged from $13,990 to $20,440.
