Nissan’s compact crossover SUV, the Rogue is a 5-seater that’s offered with front- or all-wheel drive. It shares a platform with the Nissan Sentra, but looks and performs more like the Nissan Murano. Its main competitors include the Volkswagen Tiguan, Ford Escape, and the Mazda Tribute. A new trim level has been added for the 2010 model year.

Three trim levels are available on the 2010 Nissan Rogue: S, S Krom Edition, and SL. Standard on the Rogue S are 16-inch steel wheels, cruise control, air conditioning, 4-speaker sound system, and keyless entry. The Value option package adds a rear spoiler, chrome grille, and a backup camera, plus alloy wheels. The Rogue Krom Edition steps up to 17-inch alloy wheels, adds some of the Value options as standard, upgrades the grille and front fascia, and adds audio controls to the steering wheel. The Rogue SL adds roof rails, trip computer, fold-down front passenger seat, and other enhancements. The SL also offers several option packages, which can include leather upholstery, upgraded sound system, keyless ignition, Xenon headlights, and more. A sunroof is also optional.

The sole engine offered in the 2010 Nissan Rogue is a 170-horsepower, 2.5-liter 4-cylinder model that delivers 22 mpg in the city and 27 mpg on the highway with front-wheel drive, according to the EPA. A continuously variable transmission is standard.

Standard safety features on the 2010 Nissan Rogue include anti-lock disc brakes with brake assist, stability control, traction control, active front head restraints, front side air bags, and side curtain airbags. In government crash tests, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) gave the Rogue 5 out of 5 stars for driver protection and 4 stars for front passenger protection in front-impact tests. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) gave the Rogue the highest-possible “Good” ratings in its front- and side-impact crash tests.

Starting MSRPs for the 2010 Nissan Rogue ranged from $20,460 to $25,310.
