2010 Mercedes GLK-Class SUV

The GLK-Class is an all-new entry for 2010: Mercedes-Benz’s compact luxury crossover SUV. The GLK-Class is a 5-seater that takes engineering and design cues from various other Mercedes-Benz models, mainly the C-Class. It’s built on a slightly shorter C-Class platform, but its distinctive profile resembles that of the boxy G-Class. The GLK-Class competes with the Audi Q5, Lexus RX 350, and the Acura RDX, among others.

The single trim level for 2010 is known as the GLK350 if it employs the standard rear-wheel drive; models with the optional all-wheel-drive system are badged GLK350 4Matic. Standard equipment on the 2010 Mercedes-Benz GLK-Class includes 19-inch wheels, premium vinyl upholstery, automatic headlights, power accessories (including 8-way front seats), cruise control, dual-zone automatic climate control, 8-speaker sound system, and Bluetooth connectivity. Several option packages are available, adding a panoramic sunroof, power tailgate, upgraded wipers and mirrors, hard-drive-based navigation system, COMAND interface, premium sound system, larger wheels, and aluminum roof rails. Stand-alone options include leather upholstery, heated front seats, running boards, rear-seat entertainment system, and various safety features. Cargo capacity is 54.7 cubic feet, according to Mercedes-Benz.

The standard power plant in the 2010 Mercedes-Benz GLK-Class is a 268-horsepower, 3.5-liter V-6 engine that produces 258 lb.-ft. of torque, coupled with a 7-speed automatic transmission that features the automaker’s TouchShift manual shift control and “comfort,” “sport,” and “manual” settings. According to EPA estimates, the 2010 Mercedes-Benz GLK-Class delivers 16 mpg in the city, 22 mpg on the highway with all-wheel drive; 21 mpg on the highway with rear-wheel drive.

Standard safety features on the 2010 Mercedes-Benz GLK-Class include anti-lock disc brakes with brake assist, front side air bags, side curtain air bags, and electronic traction and stability control. Optional safety features include the TeleAid emergency telematics system, rearview camera, and parking sensors.
