2010 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupe — Model Overview
The Mercedes-Benz E-Class is available as a coupé for the first time in 2010. The new model replaces the Mercedes-Benz CLK-Class, at a lower price. The new E-Class Coupe is a rear-wheel-drive 4-seater, and is available with either a V-6 or a V-8 engine. It will compete with the Audi A5, BMW 3 Series, and the Infiniti G37 coupés, among others.
The 2010 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupe is offered in two models: E350 and E550. The E350 features 17-inch wheels, variable-damping “Agility Control” suspension, leather upholstery, sport seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, panoramic sunroof, power accessories, and 8-speaker sound system. Various option packages can include 18-inch wheels, sport-tuned suspension, additional safety features, hard-drive-based navigation system with voice commands, heated and ventilated front seats, premium Harman Kardon surround-sound system, more power features, and adaptive bi-Xenon headlights. The larger wheels are standard on the E550 trim, which also features a sport suspension, stronger brakes, and a sport body kit.
The 2010 Mercedes-Benz E350 Coupe model features a 268-horsepower, 3.5-liter V-6 engine and 7-speed automatic transmission. The E350 delivers 17 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway, according to the EPA. The E550 Coupe model employs a 382-horsepower, 5.5-liter V-8 engine and 7-speed automatic transmission; it delivers 15 mpg in the city and 23 mpg on the highway.

The 2010 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Sedan is a complete redesign, available in several models with a choice of three engines and rear-wheel or 4Matic all-wheel drive. Mercedes-Benz has lowered the price of the new E-Class Sedan by about $5,000 from the previous year. This re-tooled luxury sedan seats five, and competes with the Jaguar XF, BMW 5 Series, and the Infiniti M-Series sedans, among others.
