The CLS is a new vehicle in a new category. Mercedes refers to the CLS as a “four-door coupe.” What Mercedes is trying to communicate is that while this car has four doors like a sedan, it has the roofline and overall appearance of a sleek, low-slung two-door coupe, hence the four-door coupe designation.
