2010 Lexus LX SUV

The Lexus LX-Series entered the market in 1996, and the LX 570 is a third-generation model, and the first to feature a V-8 engine. The LX 570 is Lexus’ top-of-the-line luxury SUV: a midsize vehicle that seats up to 8 people. It features a highly identifiable profile and combines off-road performance capabilities with a fully featured interior, Lexus says. Its main competitors are the Land Rover Range Rover and the Mercedes-Benz GL-Class. New for 2010 are a telematics system that includes Lexus’ Enform services, and upgrades to the navigation and sound systems.

The 2010 LX 570’s single trim level features 20-inch alloy wheels, an electronically controlled suspension, sunroof, leather upholstery, a long menu of power functions (including liftgate and power-folding third-row seats), Bluetooth connectivity, an improved voice-activated navigation system, the telematics system, and an integrated tow hitch. A Luxury package of options includes upgraded wheels and trim, heated seats (ventilated in front), keyless entry, and keyless ignition. Other options are offered as stand-alones, including adaptive cruise control, rear entertainment system, and a 19-speaker Mark Levinson surround sound system.

Properly equipped, the 2010 Lexus LX 570 can tow up to 8500 pounds. With the third-row seats folded to the side, 41 cubic feet of cargo space is available; with the second-row seats folded, total cargo space is 83 cubic feet, Lexus says.

The powertrain in the 2010 Lexus LX 570 consists of a 383-horsepower, 5.7-liter V-8 engine, 6-speed automatic transmission with manual shift control, and all-wheel drive. According to the EPA, the 2010 Lexus LX 570 delivers 12 mpg in the city and 18 mpg on the highway.

Safety features on the 2010 Lexus LX 570 include the Safety Connect emergency communications system, anti-lock brakes with brake assist, stability control, traction control, front- and second-row side air bags, side curtain air bags, and front knee air bags. An optional Pre-Collision System braces both the vehicle and passengers if a collision is inevitable, Lexus says.
