Lexus’ GS-Series is a family of “executive cars”—midsize luxury performance sedans that have been on the market in the United States since the early 1990s. They’re available with V-6, hybrid, or V-8 engines, the vehicles respectively named GS 350, GS 450h, and GS 460. The Lexus GS is a 5-seater, and the 2010 model is basically a carryover from the previous year, with some upgrades to the standard equipment.

The standard Lexus GS features 17-inch alloy wheels (18-inch wheels are optional on the 350, standard on the 450h and 460), keyless ignition and entry, sunroof, a full menu of power accessories, dual-zone automatic climate control, emergency telematics, and a 10-speaker sound system. The Luxury Value Edition option package includes a hard-drive-based navigation system featuring the Lexus Enform with Safety Connect emergency telematics system, and a 14-speaker Mark Levinson premium sound system. Other options are available.

The 2010 Lexus GS uses rear-wheel drive as its standard. All-wheel drive is available. The GS 350’s power plant is a 303-horsepower, 3.5-liter V-6 engine that makes 274 lb. ft. of torque and delivers 19 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway. The transmission is a 6-speed automatic with manual shift mode. The GS 450h combines a 3.5-liter V-6 engine with two electric motors; working together, they can generate 340 horsepower. A continuously variable transmission is standard. According to the EPA, the Lexus GS 450h delivers 22 mpg in the city and 25 mpg on the highway. The 2010 Lexus GS 460’s power plant is a 342-horsepower, 4.6-liter V-8 engine, joined to an 8-speed automatic transmission with manual shift capability. The engine delivers 17 mpg in the city and 24 mpg on the highway.

Standard safety features on the 2010 Lexus GS include anti-lock brakes with brake assist, stability and traction control, front and rear side air bags, side curtain air bags, front knee air bags, front head restraints, and emergency telematics.

Starting MSRPs for the 2010 Lexus GS-Series ranged from $45,360 to $57,450.
