The Ranger is one of the last truly "compact" pickups on the market. Nissan and Dodge have moved their smaller trucks into the mid-sized pickup arena, while Toyota and Chevrolet offer a great deal more interior room with their Crew Cab models. The Ranger buyer now faces a dilemma: remain true to Ford and get less truck, or move up to a more spacious cab without sacrificing much in the way of fuel economy or price. It's a tough call and Ford knows it so they've augmented the Ranger's already low price with a number of incentives and rebates, a tempting plum many buyers won't easily overlook.
