Easy to dismiss as a road-going novelty because of its late 40's exterior style, the 2006 Chevrolet HHR is actually a very practical passenger and cargo hauler that's also comfortable and not at all unwilling to have a little fun. In other words, it's a very complete package. Smaller than you might perceive from pictures, the HHR is based on the same platform that underpins Chevy's Cobalt compact sedan and coupe. Power is provided by 145 and 170 horsepower four-cylinder engines, harnessed by either a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic transmission.
