2010 Chevrolet Equinox SUV

This small to mid-sized crossover SUV has been completely redesigned for 2010. For 2010, the Equinox receives a new base engine, and its design has been updated. The Equinox’s revised interior features a dual-cowl dashboard, available two-tone color schemes, and a redesigned control panel. Cargo space behind the back seat is 31.4 cu.ft, and with the rear seats folded, total cargo space is 63.7 cu.ft. The MultiFlex rear seat can be adjusted to provide either more legroom or more cargo space.

Standard equipment for the base LS trim includes full power accessories, a six-speaker stereo system, cruise control, air conditioning, and 17-in. wheels. The 1LT trim level adds upgraded cloth upholstery, tinted rear windows, roof rails, and other features. The 2LT trim includes remote start, automatic climate control, foglights, upgraded sound system, and other power features. The top-line LTZ trim has more automatic accessories, plus leather upholstery and heated front seats. A rear entertainment system and a navigation system are available at the higher trim levels, and the LTZ can have 19-in. chrome-clad wheels if the optional V6 engine is included.

The standard engine on the 2010 Equinox is a 182-hp, 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine that delivers 22 mpg city and 32 mpg highway, according to the EPA. Optional with the 1LT, 2LT, and LTZ trim levels is a 264-hp, 3.0-liter V6 engine that delivers 17 mpg in the city and 25 mpg on the highway. A six-speed automatic transmission is standard with either engine, and so is front-wheel drive. All-wheel drive is optional.

Standard safety features include antilock disc brakes with brake assist, traction and stability controls, front side airbags, side curtain airbags, and OnStar telematics.

Base MSRP for the 2010 Chevrolet Equinox ranged from $22,615 to $29,970.
