2007 Cadillac STS Sedan
Media Center
What’s New?
Like its smaller sibling the CTS, the STS sedan receives only one upgrade for 2007 since it will be redesigned for the 2008 model year. The change is a switch to the fully electronic 6-speed automatic transmission on the Northstar V-8-powered model. The 2008 model will receive a refreshening, including a bigger standard engine and a host of other design and performance upgrades.

Overview
The STS remains one of the staples of the Cadillac lineup. It carries on with a host of luxury, performance, and styling features that make it a standout in the segment. The STS features bold exterior styling that includes the Cadillac signature edges that blend nicely with an overall image of elegance and grace. The STS is the beneficiary of tremendous attention to detail, with tight body panel fits from grille to trunk.

Inside, the STS classic look continues, with extensive use of premium materials and fabrics, including leather seats, soft-touch panels, and an equal level of high-quality fit and finish on the trim. State-of-the-art technologies are found on the STS, including an Adaptive Remote Start system, Adaptive Cruise Control, a 4-color head-up display that shows vital vehicle information on the windshield, and heated/ventilated power seats. For sound, the Bose 5.1 system is full and rich—no wonder, since there are 15 speakers in the cabin.

Power for the STS comes from either a 3.6-liter V-6 producing 254 hp and 252 lb.-ft. of torque or a 320-hp Northstar V-8 with 315 lb.-ft. of torque. The V-6 is matched to a 5-speed automatic, while the V-8 gets the new-for-2007 6-speed automatic transmission with Driver Shift Control that lets you pick your own gear. If that’s not enough power, the STS-V offers an amazing 469 hp from its 4.4-liter supercharged V-8 engine. Torque is an equally powerful 439 lb.-ft. Safety, however, doesn’t take a back seat to performance in the STS. Standard features like anti-lock brakes, StabilTrak stability control program, disc brakes, and OnStar are just a few of the long list of items designed to protect STS occupants.

The Cadillac STS competes in the Midsize Premium Conventional segment, which consists of 12 models. Buyers in this segment look for quality, performance, and reliability, according to the J.D. Power and Associates 2006 Avoider StudySM and the Escaped Shopper Study.SM

Power and Associates Sales Report,SM were the Lexus ES Series (75,987 units sold), BMW 5 Series (56,756), and Mercedes-Benz E-Class (50,195).
