The 1 Series is the entry level to the BMW fleet: a sporty coupé available as a hardtop or as a power-operated convertible. It shares many attributes with the slightly larger 3 Series, including structure, chassis, powertrain, hardware, and electronic elements. The 2010 BMW 1 Series is available in two trim levels: 128i and 135i.
Standard features on the 2010 BMW 128i include 17-inch alloy wheels, automatic headlights, cruise control, rain-sensing wipers, leatherette vinyl upholstery, tilt-and-telescoping leather-wrapped steering wheel, and a 10-speaker stereo with a CD player and auxiliary audio jack. The convertible version has a power-folding soft top. The 135i trim adds a turbocharged engine, sport-tuned suspension (which is also optional on the 128i), 18-inch wheels, xenon headlights, and automatic climate control. Sunroof and split folding rear seats are standard on coupés. The Premium package adds leather upholstery, power front seats, and BMW Assist. Convertibles offer an optional “Moonlight Black” top, which features silvery strands of fabric for extra pizzazz.
