2018 Kia Soul ratings and reviews

It's clear that Kia is trying to grab the attention of younger, hipper drivers with the update to its Soul wagon/crossover. A six-speaker audio system is standard on all models, and the + (plus) and ! (exclaim) models include a 7-inch touchscreen, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and voice recognition as standard. These features are all optional on the base model. The engine on the Soul base model leaves a bit to be desired. It's a 1.6-liter inline, 4-cylinder engine with a paltry 130 horsepower. The + model a 2-liter, 4-cylinder engine with 161 horsepower while the ! model offers a 1.6-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine and 201 horsepower. A six-speed manual transmission is standard on the base model, with the option of a six-speed automatic transmission. The ! model has a 7-speed dual clutch transmission. There's room for five in the soul, although things can get a bit tight.
