2009 Volvo Ratings, Reviews and Awards

Volvo's tradition of unflashy yet safe vehicles continues with the XC90's 3.2 L, six-cylinder engine. The luxury crossover/wagon seats up to seven (or, five, depending on the configuration) and can also come with a V-8 powertrain warranty. 2009 brings a new R-Design appearance package and Executive Package but keeps the updated face of Volvo, rather than the original boxy angles the brand is known for. New in 2009 for the S40 is standard Bluetooth connectivity and discontinued T5 manual transmission. The compact car sees 168 hp thanks to a 2.4 L engine; that amounts to as much as 31 highway mpg. It's also available as a wagon and comes in front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. The C30 of 2009 is largely identical to the C30 of 2008; it's offered as a hatchback, and its 2.5 L engine creates 227 hp for a combined 23 mpg.
