2009 BMW Ratings, Reviews and Awards

Known for high-end luxury and smooth performance, BMW remained one of the top competitors in luxury vehicles for 2009 with a newly redesigned 7 Series and a variety of facelifts. Their 3 Series received an exterior an interior makeover, adding a diesel powerplant and the next-gen iDrive system built upon since 2001. The 1, 5, and 6 series would all receive new optional changes from wheels to colors and technologies. New to this year were BMW's Z4 and X6, each offering unique qualities for very different drivers. The X6 is a sports utility vehicle with coup stylings featuring either an 8-cylinder xDrive50i or the turbocharged 6-cylinder variant. Automatic tailgates and cold weather packages make the X6 attractive for daily use. The stylish Z4 roadster is a convertible hardtop with a choice between two 6-cylinder engines. The 7 series, BMWs flagship, was redesigned from the ground up with luxury in mind. 400hp twin-turbocharged engines, automatic suspension dampening, and the latest in auto-technology all denote the 7 series as a premium luxury sedan.
