2008 Chevrolet Ratings, Reviews and Awards

For 2008, Chevrolet makes smart changes to its powerful existing lineup. The Corvette, Chevy's iconic sports car, gets an interior redesign this year with more power (the pushrod V-8 is now 6.2 L and can get to 436 hp with the optional exhaust), a new interior upgrade, and an improved steering feel. Coming in fresh of its 2007 win as the North American Truck of the Year (named by Car and Driver), the Silverado has largely been left as is by Chevy. XM satellite radio is standard now, and seats and interior gauges have been tweaked, but otherwise, drivers will continue to see three different cab options (regular, extended, and crew-cab), three bed lengths, several engine options. The base Silverado is a 195 hp, 4.3 L, V-6 engine, and the V-8 options range from 4.8 L to 6.0 L. The turbo-diesel V-8 can bring in as much as 365 hp and 660 pound-feet of torque. Updated in 2007 and so only minorly tweaked in 2008, the Tahoe is now also available in a hybrid version.
